Tom Budden

Tom was first introduced to electronic music when hearing mixtapes from raves in the early 90's. It wasn't until hearing dj's such as Sasha spin classic sets at The Manor club near Bournemouth that he was hooked. He later went on to do some promotional work for the club that led him to his first gig in '99.

During the past 7 years Tom has honed his djing skills and achieved what few dj's have managed in this time, by creating his own sound of deep and groovy tech-house, through to a more chunky electronic sound - In the past two years Tom has played alongside many of the big players including Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, Paul Woolford, Meat Katie, Nic Fanciulli, Damian Lazarus, Ralph Lawson, Mazi, Tyler Stadius, Infusion, Phil K, Evil Nine, King Unique and more.

Endorsements have come from all directions, notably from superstar DJ James Zabiela, who has labeled Tom 'best undiscovered DJ' & also mentioned Tom as playing the best warm-up set for him in 2004 - DJ Magazine.

"The thing that makes Tom such a great DJ (apart from
having great taste in music of course) is the fact you can put him on at any time of the night and he'll play accordingly. Whether it's opening the night without smashing all the big records or finishing the party and keeping control of the dancefloor, he's more than capable of both." James Zabiela.

DJ magazine also gave Tom glowing praise after his recent set at Resonance in London with the following comment:
"Tom is a name already familiar to some. With a Proton show and high acclaim from DJ's and clubbers alike, he doesn't just add to a party - he regularly makes it. Everything about him is infectious, from those throbbing basslines that hook you in to his enthusiastic demeanour behind the decks. If justice prevails, expect to see Tom on a bigger stage more regularly."

Alongside gigs at Renaissance at the Cross, Miami WMC'05/06, Warsaw, Full Moon parties in Thailand, Istanbul, Turnmills (London), .Zero (Now Plug, Sheffield), Tom has played the past 3 New Years Eve's on the 'now infamous' High Tide Boat Party (Southampton), has a monthly residency at one of the longest running nights in the country, Release (Southampton) and co-promotes 'ALiVE' at Mono in Southampton with James Zabiela. 2006 sees Tom start a new residency for Familia at the Key Club, London .

Tom has been hosting his own monthly radio show 'ALiVE' on Proton Radio since April of 2004, which has been gaining interest (and listeners) from around the world. The diversity of guest mixes on the show has been the essence of the ALiVE concept. DJ's across the board have included PJ Davy, Paul Woolford, Dylan Rhymes, Ethan of 3brotherstrong, Meat Katie, Nils Noa, Dean Muhsin, Bill Payer & DJ Harry, James Zabiela & Luke Fair, John Barber, Natalia Data to name a few...
